How to do laundry….?

Long story short: I was never shown how to properly do laundry.

I separate the whites from the rest of the stuff. Start the wash with cold water (I always use cold water) through in some Gain Apple Mango Tango detergent (because I love the smell) put some of the same brand fabric softner into the little thing on the top where its supposed to go and thats about it. When the washer is done I throw it all (unless there is something delicate) into the drywer with a dryersheet of the same brand.

I feel like I am missing something and my whites never stay white! (When its a load of whites I also put bleach in)

Do you have any tips or great suggestions??? What can I do to make my towels/sheeets smell better longer?

My dog is LITERALLY eating the drywall in my laundry room.?

I have a medium/big dog and during the day while the family goes off to work and school, we keep her in the laundry room, lately though shes been eating the drywall in there. now let me tell you. I’ve used those bitter sprays, ive soaked it with them, but they DO NOT WORK!! What the heck can i use so she can stop? help!

but please don’t say anything with a strong odor like vinegadon’t dont need my house to smell like something else. lol

How to get the freshest smelling laundry.?

I’ve been having trouble with my freshly clean laundry smelling a little dingy.

What can I do for fresh smelling laundry? I heard it’s good to use bleach on towels, but I have cute colored ones and don’t want them to get bleach spots all over them.

I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong! I have an older washing machine, which may be the issue, I don’t know. I do my towels serpate. I don’t over stuff them, or under dry them. I use the amount of detergent that’s on the back of the bottle. I use “large load” when it is indeed a large load. And I use cold water.

Any ideas, tips or suggestions? Maybe name brands that work the most or anything really! I want my towels to smell really good when I go to dry off or my clothes when I put them on. They either smell like nothing or like mildew.

What would happen if you meet one of your favorite contact in the laundry room or some other public places?

I know the probability of that happening is highly low.
Do you get all shy and thinking “Oh Damn, I have to get outta here” or do you get a chair and start talking/ get the phone number?
…..I did say it’s highly unlikely!!! But what if!?

starting a new job in LAUNDRY at a nursing home? please help!!?

So i just got a job working in laundry part time where i have to hang personal clothing items to residents that want their laundry cleaned by the facility. im so nervous because ive never used a washer and dryer that big before (I DONT KNOW HOW TO OPERATE IT) and i just really want to do a good job! i know he will help show me what to do, but it takes me two tries to get something so i’m worrying! i’m supposed to deliver clothes to each room from a rack and make sure they have their name on their clothes in their closet. i’m so scared ive never done anything like this in my life! ANYBODY DONE THIS JOB BEFORE OR CAN GIVE ME ANY TIPS ON WHAT TO EXPECT WITH THIS JOB? I start in 2 days and i cant sleep im so nervous! help!!

AFV Video: British Kid & “Bubble Monster” in the Laundry Room?

I just saw an episode of AFV where a little british boy (probably about 5 or 6) was hysterically upset over the drain in the laundry room, claiming a monster lived in there. Turns out, the “monster” was bubbles from the laundry machine running. He freaks out and ends up “killing” them with a nearby mop because his mom doesn’t do anything. I’m trying to find this video desperately, and was unable to post and ask in the AVF forum at the ABC Family website. If anyone either has an account and can post and ask and send me the link to the thread or knows where I can find this video, it would be much, much, MUCH appreciated. Thanks!!

What do you do with laundry that is waiting to be folded?

There are 4 people in my family, 2 of them kids, so a lot of dirty clothes. When I take laundry out of the dryer I never have time to fold it and put it away. What should I do with it until I have time? I don’t want big piles of laundry on the floor of my bedroom (where it is now), plus it gets wrinkled while it’s lying there. Any tips?
My kids are 2 1/2 and 6 months, so they are really too young to help. My husband has his own chores – laundry is mine. What I’d really like to know is if people have unique places or ways they store the laundry while it’s waiting to be folded.

what to do with a really bad clog in the laundry room sink?

sooo….. our washer is really old now. when it’s time for the rinse it pours the water directly into the sink next to it. today we washed and when i came back to check on the laundry there was water all over. i thought there was something covering the sink hole but nothing was there. we tried using the plunger but it didn’t work. we rented a machine to help unplug it but nothing. we even took out the sink and nothing. nothing is working.

is there any suggestions on what we can do too unplug that sink?

not sure of this info makes a difference but…

Kids drop laundry on their floor – how can I get them to clean this up?

My two daughters share a room and their floor is continually covered in clothes, no matter what I do I can’t seem to get them to pick them up and put them in a pile or laundry basket (yes I have tried bribes, getting a garbage bag out and taking it away, leaving it on the floor and not washing it and they did run out of things to wear). Any tips or suggestions on methods that works to get them to pick up after themselves I’d love to hear.
Yes I do have a laundry hamper in their room – perhaps I need a better hamper with more compartments for their items to be sorted into???

What do people look for when purchasing a laundry hamper to be taken to laundromats?

This would not be for use in a personal laundry room at a house. It’s specifically for transporting dirty linens to a coin operated laundromat. Feel free to throw in ideas for what you would like to have on it.
