best laundry detergent? HOUSEWIVES TIPS PLEASE?

My husband has a landscaping business..he gets REALLY dirty! I mean sometime I joke with him and ask him if he danced in the dirt. They do a lot of work that requires getting very dirty. Sometimes they even have to work in the rain. His work clothes gets extremely dirty. I wash and it gets “clean” but you can still see mud stains and stuff. I use PUREX and it cleans but the clothes has NO smell even after its out of the wash….it only smells like my downey simple pleasure. what do you recommed that smells GOOD and CLEANS…THANKS!!
